Why this role exists
We’re a technical team that built something genuinely differentiated: the schema layer for enterprise data, certified under DIN SPEC 91491, trusted by regulated industries in energy, logistics, and procurement.
The founders have deep domain credibility and can open doors. What we don’t yet have is a dedicated person whose entire job is to find the right growth motion and drive it relentlessly. That’s you. You’ll report to the Head of Business, have a real budget to work with, and own the number — not just contribute to someone else’s.
The charter
Find the growth motion — then own it
We don’t hand you a playbook because we don’t have one. You diagnose the highest-leverage channel — organic/SEO, inbound, outbound, content, partnerships, community, product-led — and run it.
Own a real number
Pipeline, revenue, or a leading indicator you can defend. Whatever the north star is, it’s yours to hit, miss, and learn from — with full visibility into the data that explains it.
Turn founders’ expertise into a compounding asset
Nikolas and Holger have been in rooms that produced DIN SPEC 91491. Your job is to make sure that credibility doesn’t stay in their heads — it becomes content, SEO, and category authority that compounds without them in the room.
Build with AI tooling — not around it
We ship with Claude Code. If you’re excited about using AI to 10x your output on research, outreach, content, and analysis, this is the right environment. We expect growth to look agentic here.
Bring unsolicited bets
If you see a channel, a partnership, or a play nobody asked for — bring it. The best ideas at early-stage companies come from people who don’t wait for permission.
What good looks like
Growth motion, diagnosed
You’ve talked to customers, mapped the funnel, and have a clear POV on where the highest-leverage growth comes from. You’ve committed to an initial channel.
First experiments live
You’ve shipped something — a content programme, an outbound sequence, a partnership conversation, a product-led motion — and have early signal on what’s working.
A motion, not a project
Pipeline is moving, the channel is repeatable, and you can articulate clearly what you’re doubling down on and what you’re dropping.
The profile
- You’ve grown something beforeStartup experience with proof of execution. Not a strategy document — an actual channel that worked, a number that moved, a thing you shipped and learned from.
- You have a clear POV on growthWhen you read the Talonic product page, you don’t think “interesting, where should we start?” — you already know the angle you’d try first. That instinct is the job.
- You’re comfortable with no playbookYou’re energised by the blank page, not intimidated by it. You don’t need a framework handed to you; you build the framework and then execute against it.
- Fluent EnglishGerman is a strong plus given the enterprise market we’re in.
- Bias to shippingYou have a strong preference for done over perfect and a track record that proves it. Perfect is the enemy of the first data point.
- You build agenticallyYou use AI tooling — for research, for outreach, for content — not as an experiment but as a default. Our whole team ships this way.
- You’re energised by freedom and ownershipUncapped upside, real autonomy, and accountability for a number that matters — that’s the offer. If that combination excites you rather than unsettles you, we should talk.
The operating model
Small team, high trust, context over control. Real ownership from week one, and a weekly heartbeat everyone ships to.
Claude Code is how we ship, not an experiment. We expect growth to look the same way: agentic by default, shipped by Thursday, demoed on Friday.
We help write the rules of this category
- We co-authored DIN SPEC 91491, the German standard for AI-based document data extraction, with Fraunhofer IIS, Humboldt-Innovation and DIN e.V. We don’t follow this category’s rules; we help define them.
- NVIDIA Inception member, with roots in research affiliated with Humboldt University of Berlin, and backed by leading European deep-tech investors.
- Enterprise traction, at the inflection point where a strong growth motion doesn’t just accelerate revenue — it shapes the category. That’s the seat you’d be taking.
What we offer
- LocationBerlin, hybrid or remote. Preference for Berlin or CET ±2.
- CompensationCompetitive base (open, based on experience) plus uncapped commission tied directly to pipeline you generate, plus meaningful equity that reflects how early you’d be joining.
- ScopeThe growth charter for a company at the inflection point: yours to design, own, and scale.
The process
- Intro with the Head of Business. Meet Donita: the mission, the seat, your questions. Come with a POV on where you’d start and why — we want to see how you think about growth, not just what you’ve done before.
- Paid co-working session. Spend a paid day building alongside the team on a real growth problem — a campaign, a channel audit, an outbound sequence — with access to our data and the way we actually work.
- Culture-fit meeting with the team. Meet the people you’d build with. Mutual fit, no trick questions.
- References. Including the ones you didn’t put on the list.
