Accepted Answer

The performer and surgeon credentials, the anesthesia type (enum), the estimated blood loss, the specimen, any complications, the post-operative orders, and the conclusion each come back as fields, alongside the facility name and managing organization.

Are the procedures, staff, medications, and specimens returned as tables?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A procedures table returns each procedure code, name, sequence, and approach; a personnel table returns each role, name, credentials, and signature date; a medications administered table returns each medication, dose, route, and time; and a specimens table returns each specimen type, description, pathology number, and fixative.

The report contains patient health information. What happens to it?

Accepted Answer

The report is processed via the Talonic API for extraction only, is not retained for training, and is not shared. Redact the patient name, identifier, and birth date where your workflow allows, and point BAA-covered workflows at the Talonic platform. PDF only, up to 10MB and 100 pages.

Does the tool interpret the surgery or give medical advice?

Accepted Answer

No. It extracts the fields present on the operative report into structured data. It does not code the procedure for billing, interpret the findings, or give any clinical advice.
