talonic_release_decision_task

Give a claimed decision task back. The task returns to available with its row intact, the release is journaled, and the next claim bumps the epoch. Use it when you cannot finish within the lease or the SLA but another agent — or you, later — could still decide it; the task is not failed and no review is raised.

ParameterTypeDescription
task_id *UUIDClaimed task ID.
execution_epoch *integerExact epoch from the current claim.

Releasing is cheaper than letting the lease lapse: the task is immediately claimable instead of waiting out the lease, and the ledger records a deliberate give-back rather than a silent timeout. The SLA clock keeps running throughout, so a task released late in its window may time out before anyone reclaims it.

Frequently asked questions

Release or fail — which one?+
Release when the task is decidable but not by you right now: another claimant gets the same package and contract. Fail when no claimant could decide it from this package: that raises a Human Review with your reason and applies the app's fallback policy.
