Questions about Air Waybill Extractor.

What is an air waybill (AWB)?

The transport document an airline or its agent issues for an air freight shipment. It carries the AWB number, shipper and consignee, carrier, flight number, airports of origin and destination, cargo description, and weights.

Which fields does the extractor return?

AWB number and issue date, shipper, consignee, notify party, carrier, origin and destination airport codes, flight number, cargo description, marks and numbers, package count and type, gross mass with weight unit, volume, HS or commodity code, special handling codes, and total charges with currency and the prepaid or collect indicator, plus the shipment line and handling instruction tables.

Can it read house and master air waybills?

Yes, both. Forwarder-issued house AWBs and carrier master AWBs share the same field layout, and customer reference plus booking numbers are captured for matching the two.

What file formats can I upload?

PDF only, up to 10MB and 100 pages.

Is my air waybill data stored or shared?

No. The file is processed via the Talonic API to extract the data, is not retained for training, and is not shared.

Can I export the extracted data?

Yes. Download the fields and line tables as CSV, XLSX, or raw JSON.

Doing this to one file, or to ten thousand?

The tool reads a single document. The platform reads the whole estate once and keeps it queryable — the same engine, with a memory.

See document data extraction if you run this for freight and customs teams, or the extraction API if you are building it in.
