Questions about Payroll Tax Filing Extractor.

What does the payroll tax filing extractor read?

The form number (such as 941, 941-SS, or 941-X), the filing date, the tax year, the quarter (enum, Q1 to Q4), the employer EIN, the employer name and address, and the number of employees who received wages for the quarter.

How is a payroll tax filing different from a payslip or a payroll register?

A payroll tax filing is the employer periodic return to the tax authority: total wages, federal income tax withheld, and Social Security and Medicare tax remitted for all employees. A payslip is one employee pay stub and a payroll register is the employer per-period pay list. For an individual return use the individual tax return extractor.

Which wage and tax fields come out?

The total wages, the federal income tax withheld, the taxable Social Security wages, the Social Security tax, the taxable Medicare wages and tips, the Medicare tax, the total tax liability, and the total taxes after adjustments each come back as fields.

Does it capture deposits and the balance due?

Yes. The total deposits, the balance due, the overpayment, and the filing status (enum) come back as fields, and the deposit schedule table returns each deposit date, amount, method (such as EFTPS), and reference. The tax summary and employee list tables come back too.

Which signer fields come out, and what are the file limits?

The authorized representative name and title, and the filing period start and end dates each come back as fields. PDF only, up to 10MB and 100 pages; processed via the Talonic API for extraction only and not retained.

Doing this to one file, or to ten thousand?

The tool reads a single document. The platform reads the whole estate once and keeps it queryable — the same engine, with a memory.

See document data extraction if you run this for risk and compliance teams, or the extraction API if you are building it in.
