Questions about Warehouse Receipt Extractor.

What does the warehouse receipt extractor read?

The receipt number and date, the warehouse name and location, the shipper (depositor) name and reference, the consignee name and reference (the party entitled to claim the goods), the goods receipt date, the total quantity, and the total weight with its weight unit (enum).

How is a warehouse receipt different from a goods receipt note or a bill of lading?

A warehouse receipt is issued by a warehouse operator for goods taken into storage — it names the depositor and the consignee entitled to claim the goods, and can be negotiable or non-negotiable as title to the stored goods. A goods receipt note records goods received against a purchase order at a buyer dock, and a bill of lading is the contract of carriage and title while goods are in transit. For the transit document use the bill of lading extractor.

Which storage and condition fields come out?

The carrier name, the handling instructions (such as temperature control or fragile), the condition code (enum, such as acceptable, damaged, or defective), the authorization signature of the receiving warehouse officer, the warehouse reference or batch number, the insurance value, and the effective and expiration dates each come back as fields.

Are the received items and storage locations returned as tables?

Yes. A received items table returns each item sequence, description, SKU, quantity, unit, weight, storage location, condition, batch or lot number, expiry date, and unit and line values; and a warehouse locations table returns each location code, type, capacity, capacity unit, and environment.

What are the file limits and privacy terms?

PDF only, up to 10MB and 100 pages. The receipt is processed via the Talonic API for extraction only, is not retained for training, and is not shared.

Doing this to one file, or to ten thousand?

The tool reads a single document. The platform reads the whole estate once and keeps it queryable — the same engine, with a memory.

See document data extraction if you run this for freight and customs teams, or the extraction API if you are building it in.
